A good shower is a great purchase for someone who values their downtime, as nothing is more relaxing than a hot, long shower after a hectic day. A client of ours from Astor Row had one recently installed and was enjoying all its perks, but this was interrupted barely a month later. It was at this time that she started noticing a rapid deterioration and darkening of the grout, which should not happen to a brand-new shower. She tried contacting the company that had done the installation, but they never answered her calls. After several attempts to contact them via phone and email, she decided to look for a truly professional Astor Row Grout Cleaning service in that could restore her shower back to new.

Before and After Picture of a Grout Cleaning Service in Astor Row
Frustrated and not wanting to fall in the hands of another untrustworthy company, our client sought out the advice of a friend who had had her old bathroom serviced a few months ago, and had gotten extraordinary results for a fairly good price. Her friend texted her a link to Sir Grout of Manhattan's website, and she signed up for a free, in-home evaluation right away.

On the scheduled day, our team of experts arrived to assess the problem and provide solutions. They noticed the acute darkening of the grout. For it to happen in such a short amount of time probably meant that the installer mixed the grout incorrectly and did not seal it or applied it the right way. They suggested Sir Grout's flagship treatment: a thorough grout cleaning service, color sealing and re-caulking. We assured her that the results would last longer than those of her previous experience. Trusting her friend's results and our technicians' expertise, she accepted.

When the day came, our team of specialists got to work. First, they applied our proprietary soap-less and non-toxic cleaner for tile and grout, and used a high-speed yet gentle scrubber to remove most of the dirt. For difficult areas, they used a steam cleaner. After the shower was completely cleansed, they proceeded to repair the damaged grout lines, taking time to carefully mix and install the grout. After this, they applied Sir Grout's proprietary ColorSeal, which not only helps to change and even the grout lines' color, it also makes all grout stain-, water-, mold-, and mildew-resistant. Finally, to prevent further water damage, they removed all damaged caulk and re-caulked with our proprietary Stainmaster Epoxy Caulk.

Once she saw the results, she looked happy but still in doubt. The technicians understood and told her they would give her a few maintenance tips to keep the shower looking good for a year or more, without having to resort to a full grout cleaning service so soon.

The first tip they gave her was to always use a soap-less, pH neutral cleaner since regular soap tends to leave a sticky residue that can stain shower floors and make them look dirty. It is also important to use a clean mop, and to change mop water regularly; and last but not least, it is best to never let your shower air-dry, since dirty cleaner can stain tiles and grout easily.
